Mario Ciampi has over 30 years experience in the consumer/retail world. His career has included exerpeience as an operator, investor and consultant. Operating experience includes 11 years as a senior operating executive at The Childrens Place, where he had oversight responsibilities for Store development, ecommerce, logistics, IT and store operations. During his tenure at TCP, the company grew from $80m in sales to $1.5B, opening over 1,000 stores in 3 countries, developing multiple distribution centers and starting the company's ecommerce initiative. Mr. Ciampi was also the President of the Disney Stores North America and led the turnaround of that business. As an equity investor, Mr. Ciampi led the investment team at Prentice Capital, focusing on high growth investments in the consumer space. Investments and successful exits included Le Pain Quotidien, IT'Sugar, Gaiam, and Blueport Commerce. As a consultant, Mr. Ciampi has helped companies experiencing dynamic change in their business models, either through rapid growth or through a turnaround or change in their business model. Clients have included a large international apparel retailer, a franchised vitamin and mineral retailer, and several smaller start up businesses. Helping entrepreneurs and guiding them through the early growth cycle is a strength and one of his most desirable interests.
